Essential 70's

This page needs some updating!

First of all, I don't claim to be an expert on 70's hard rock and heavy metal. Being only 12 years old when the 70's were over, I did not buy any of the albums/cds on my list until the 80's and 90's (except a few of the Kiss albums) and there are a lot of good albums that I have never heard. However I think I do have most of the better 70's releases on the list. I have included a seperate list of 70's hard rock and heavy metal albums that Martin Popoff had on his Top 10 list from each year plus some others that he highly recomended in his book The Collectors Guide To Heavy Metal - that are not on my list. All of the cds below should still be in print. My Top 30 have a + by the date.

Or not? Any comments or suggestions for this list would be appreciated. E-mail me at: scot@essentialmetal.com
